Resilinc Launches New Solution for Supplier Capacity Management

Upcoming Webcast to Detail Business Benefits and Value from Investing in Proactive Supplier Capacity Management

Milpitas, CA – January 8, 2015. Supplier capacity risk is a key factor supply chain managers need to evaluate in order to ensure the uninterrupted flow of parts and products necessary to service fluctuating customer demand. A lack of visibility to supplier capacity constraints can directly lead to lost revenue and market share, and declines in customer satisfaction and shareholder value. To address this challenge, Resilinc launched today SupplyIntel™ Supplier Capacity Management.

The module is one of several solution modules built on the SupplyIntel cloud platform designed to provide a complete analytics-driven solution for achieving supply chain resilience and end-to-end supply chain risk optimization and quantification. Other key integrated and complementary modules include disruption Risk Management and supplier Business Continuity Planning.

“The solution resonates especially with companies that face extreme expected or unexpected swings in product demand and unforeseeable supplier disruptions, rely on unpredictable or highly regulated resources, or have products with short life cycles,” said Sumit Vakil, Resilinc, chief technology officer. “These are the enterprises that require the greatest insight into supplier capacity in order to minimize the risk to their supply chain and avoid costly and long-lasting disruptions.”

Resilinc also noted that it is seeing strong interest in the solution from industries that cut manufacturing capacity during the Great Recession. While demand has picked up, the manufacturing capacity has not ramped up correspondingly as partners either continue take a wait-and-see approach, or have to contend with labor, regulatory, capital, and other constraints.

The solution module facilitates the mitigation of supplier capacity risks by evaluating and assessing customer demand forecasts in conjunction with intelligence on supplier staffing levels, management experience, technology and equipment capabilities, and existing or projected commitments to other customers. It then applies risk scoring, risk thresholds, and analytics at the partner and part levels to model capacity requirements and prioritize risks for monitoring and remediation.

Resilinc will expand on this topic in an upcoming Webcast entitled:

Managing Supplier Capacity Proactively
A Key Pillar of Any Complete Supply Chain Risk Management Strategy

Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2015
Time: 2:00pm EDT / 1:00pm CDT / 11:00am Pacific

This Webcast will describe the business challenges and benefits of taking a proactive approach to securing the necessary supplier capacity at a part-level to meet fluctuating demand forecasts. It also makes the case for making supplier capacity management a vital component of a comprehensive supply chain risk management strategy when integrated with tools for managing disruption and business continuity risk.

Specifically, in this Webcast participants will learn:

  • How best to define and measure supplier capacity risk
  • What are the key challenges in managing supplier capacity risk
  • What are the key business benefits and expected ROI
  • What best practices can we learn from leading supplier capacity management practitioners
  • How to integrate supplier capacity management into a complete SCRM strategy
  • What is the role of automation in building a world-class SCRM and capacity management capability

Interested supply chain risk and capacity management practitioners can register here for this event.
